Midland Symphony Orchestra Announces Auditions for 2024/25 Season

The Midland Symphony Orchestra (MSO) is seeking professional musicians for performances in its 2024/25 Season, with auditions taking place on October 10, 2024. Auditions will be approximately 10 minutes long and will consist of required excerpts, solo selection(s), and possible sight-reading.

Midland Center for the Arts to Rock the Outdoor Stage with Center Stage Theatre’s ROCK OF AGES

Center Stage Theatre is thrilled to present the electrifying Broadway hit Rock of Ages on the Outdoor Stage this August. Directed and choreographed by Megan Meyer, with Myah Shelton as Assistant Director and Assistant Choreographer, and Christian Heintzelman as Music Director, this high-energy production will transport audiences back to the 1980s for an unforgettable rock 'n' roll experience. Performances are scheduled for two weekends from August 7 - 9 and 14 - 16 at 8 PM.

Extra! Extra! Read All About It! Disney's Newsies to Light Up the Outdoor Stage, Starring the Region's Top Teen Talent

Next week, Midland Center for the Arts will present its Rising Stars production of Disney’s Newsies, taking place from June 26 - 29, 2024, at 8:00 PM on the Outdoor Stage on the Center’s campus. Based on the 1992 Disney film, this musical features a celebrated score by eight-time Academy Award winner Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid) and Jack Feldman, alongside a compelling book by celebrated actor and writer, Harvey Fierstein.

Rock Out with Mike Campbell & The Dirty Knobs at Midland Center This July!

Iconic guitarist and songwriter Mike Campbell is joining his award-winning band The Dirty Knobs to perform at the Midland Center for the Arts Auditorium on Saturday, July 13 at 7:30 P.M.

Steve Schonberg Joins Midland Center for the Arts as Vice President, Marketing & Sales

Today, Midland Center for the Arts announced that Steve Schonberg will join the Center’s executive team on June 10th as Vice President, Marketing & Sales. He will succeed Diane Willcox, who previously announced her retirement scheduled for this summer. Steve, well-established in the Broadway community, has relocated to Midland from New York City where he built a strong reputation working in the arts as well as in consumer and nonprofit marketing.

Diane Willcox Announces Retirement from Midland Center for the Arts

After almost 40 years of dedicated service in the arts industry, Diane Willcox, Vice President of Marketing & Communications at Midland Center for the Arts, has announced her retirement, effective early August 2024.

Midland Center for the Arts Seeks Adult Actors for Pulitzer Prize-winning Musical Next to Normal

Center Stage Theatre announces auditions for the Tony Award® and Pulitzer Prize®-winning rock musical Next to Normal at Midland Center for the Arts on March 6 and 7, with performances scheduled from May 17 to 26. Tommy Wedge, Assistant Professor of Theatre at SVSU, will direct the production, with music direction by Jim Hohmeyer. The Center is searching for actors aged 16 and up to fill the six roles in this electric production. Auditions are scheduled for Wednesday, March 6, and Thursday, March 7 from 6:30 – 9:30 PM at the Center.

Midland Symphony Orchestra Will Take Audiences to the Northern Lights at February Concert

Discover one of the most beautiful natural phenomena at Midland Center for the Arts and the Midland Symphony Orchestra as they present Wonders of Nature on February 24, 2024, at 7:30 PM. The program showcases breathtaking videos of the Aurora Borealis curated by award-winning astronomer, Dr. José Francisco Salgado.
