MIDLAND, MI, March 21, 2025 - Due to continued demand, Midland Center for the Arts is extending the exclusive Midwest engagement of Space Explorers: THE INFINITE for a second and final time through April 19, 2025. Originally scheduled to run through February 23, this one-of-a-kind immersive space experience will offer audiences one last step into the cosmos on a breathtaking journey beyond Earth.
“It’s been such a joy to see how positively THE INFINITE has impacted those who have experienced it,” said Matt Travis, President & CEO of Midland Center for the Arts. “It truly is a one-of-a-kind opportunity and the qualitative feedback we have received from our patrons overwhelmingly supports that. It’s a thrill to see this, and makes all the hard work affiliated with this project worth the while based on this level of impact.”
As visitors wander through the virtual ISS wearing virtual reality headsets, they have the opportunity to witness some 60 different encounters, including floating in the cosmos with the astronauts outside the space station looking down on the vastness of Earth. Visitors can choose their own path—whether it’s stepping into the astronauts’ world through interactive moments or simply soaking in the views and witnessing life in space as it unfolds around them. Since there are a multitude of engaging experiences, visitors can come multiple times and have entirely unique experiences each time they visit.
To celebrate the final weeks of Space Explorers: THE INFINITE, Midland Center will host Galactic Getaway events just in time for Spring Break. On April 2, guests can attend Cosmos and Cocktails: The Next Giant Step, featuring a lecture by Mike Murray of Delta College Planetarium. Then, on April 4, Exploration of the Skies: Starlink, Space Junk & Satellites with guest presenter Aurelian Balan, Professor of Physics at Delta College, will dive into the rapid rise of satellites. These engaging discussions will explore the future of space exploration, the next steps in space technology, the evolving role of space telescopes, and humanity’s return to the Moon.
