The Center is excited to provide new and emerging artists with an opportunity to showcase and exhibit their artwork. The art world is a competitive journey with twists and turns that take incredible courage to navigate. Whether you are just starting your career or have been creating for a while, this opportunity to exhibit is for you! This will be a juried exhibition with the first place receiving $200, second place $150, and third place $100.

TIMELINE for Exhibition:

Drop Off Artwork:                        MAR 10 & 11, 2025 / 4 - 6 PM
Pick Up Artwork:                          MAY 19 & 20, 2025 / 11 AM - 2 PM
Submission Deadline:               MON, FEB 24, 2025
Acceptance/Decline Notification:    By FRI, FEB 28, 2025 (Sent via email)

Additional Rules for Submission:

  • Accepted mediums are ceramics, photography, drawings, painting (oil, acrylic, watercolor), printmaking, and fiber arts.
  • Artwork must be dropped off and picked up in person. Artwork will not be shipped.
  • 2D artwork must be ready to hang in a frame with a wire hanging device only.
  • The artwork must be between 11 x 14 inches and 24 x 36 inches in size. Matted objects are preferred but not mandatory.
  • They must be original works of art by the artist submitting – no copies or reproductions, please.
  • All sale transactions will be processed by the art center exclusively. A red dot will go on the label indicating that it was sold. The artist will be issued a check for 70% of the sale price within 3-4 weeks of the end of the exhibition. The art center will receive 30% of the sale price plus 6% sales tax from the purchaser.
  • Please do not upload files beyond 15 MB. If you need to submit larger files, please email them separately to shreck@midlandcenter.org.

Artist Contract

Contract Agreement

Midland Center for the Arts reserves the right to reject an entry based on content or the physical limitations of the gallery. Works of art will be insured during the duration of the exhibition once within the building. Artists will insure objects in transit to or from the museum. However, the artwork will not be insured by the Midland Center for the Arts due to faulty hanging or standing devices. We reserve the right to photograph and reproduce accepted artwork for education and publicity purposes. Artists agree to leave their artwork for the specified time of the exhibition. If artwork is not picked up within 90 days of the closing of the exhibition, it becomes the sole property of the Midland Center for the Arts. When picking up the artwork, the artist themselves must do so. The artwork will not be released unless written consent is given by the artist’s email address 48 hours prior to the pick-up dates via email to the Curator of Visual Arts. Since we have limited storage, we expect artwork to be picked up at the time stated on this application form.
