EXTENDED BY POPULAR DEMAND! Introducing an extraordinary interactive VR immersive experience in space exclusively at Midland Center for the Arts. Midland, Michigan is the ONLY city in the entire midwest featuring this experience throughout 2025.

Unearth an awe-inspiring perspective of Earth through a rare, astronaut-view that has been shared by very few... until now. This experience is open NOW for timed entry through APRIL 6, 2025. Please check specific dates for available launch times.

THE INFINITE puts you on the virtual ISS to explore breathtaking views of Earth and share a new perspective in the daily life of the crew on board. Explore a 45-minute immersive walk-through adventure, self-guided or partnered with your family members or friends.

Frequently Asked Questions

The experience is an immersive journey into space aboard the International Space Station. The experience lasts approximately 40 to 55 minutes, through guided VR. We ask visitors to kindly remain silent during their visit to THE INFINITE to encourage greater immersion for all.
Please expect to spend about 50 minutes with us. This does not account for any wait time could incur.

If you have any potential health concerns about attending the experience, please consult with your doctor, as The Infinite is not recommended for individuals who are pregnant, have epilepsy, heart conditions, etc.

We can accommodate up to three wheelchairs or large mobility devices per time slot (30 total people per slot). The exhibition is outfitted with ramps, and all entrances and exits are designed with a wide enough space for manual wheelchairs, canes, walkers, or alternative manual mobility devices.

Please note: Motorized wheelchairs are not permitted as they can damage our floor-mounted equipment.

For those with reduced mobility (RM), we have a few different options available to accommodate you, please contact us at guestservices@midlandcenter.org.

The experience is accessible to those who are 8 years of age or older. All children must be accompanied by an adult walking through the experience. Children aged 8-15, will need a waiver signed by their parent/guardian before starting the experience. Children under the age of 8 will not be admitted, and the use of baby carriers is not permitted, as it is not recommended by the VR manufacturers.

 

The use of contact lenses is preferable to enjoy an optimal experience. Otherwise, the VR device will be placed over your eyes.

According to official documentation from Oculus, if you need to wear eyeglasses, it is recommended that glasses are 142mm or less wide and 50mm or less high. Anything larger will most likely have trouble fitting in the Quest 2 headset.

Cosmic Celebration

SAT, FEB 22, 2025 / 10 AM - 1 PM (Drop in event)

Embark on a cosmic adventure at our Cosmic Celebration Day on FEB 22 from 10 AM – 1 PM!  Dive into the wonders of space, flight, and beyond with interactive activities, demonstrations, and engaging activities hosted by community partners Delta College Planetarium, Delta Dome Observatory, and Barstow Airport. Highlights of this day include air rocket launching, flight simulators, inflated planetarium shows, and hands-on activities that will spark curiosity in space enthusiasts of all ages. Recommended for ages 8 and up.

Special Cosmic Conversation at 10:30 AM! Meet Jason Achilles, the musician-turned-extraterrestrial audio engineer who helped capture the first sounds of Mars, and Dr. Chris Boshuizen, commercial astronaut and entrepreneur, who flew to space with William Shatner on Blue Origin’s second human flight. They’ll share their incredible journeys and inspire you to reach for the stars!
